Preparation:
First, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and coffee.
Add the milk slowly while continuing to stir.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat and transfer to individual bowls.
Let the dessert cool to room temperature and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
