Ingredients:
1 cup water (240 ml)
1 teaspoon dried herbs or a handful of fresh herbs (such as mint, chamomile, ginger, turmeric, or lemon)
Honey or lemon (optional to sweeten or enhance flavor)
Steps:
Place the cup of water in a pot on the stove and bring to a full boil.
Prepare the herbs:
If using dried herbs, place a teaspoon of them in a cup or tea strainer.
If using fresh herbs, wash them well and chop or tear them slightly to release the essential oils.
Pour the boiling water over the herbs in the cup or pot.
Cover the cup and let the herbs steep for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the type of herbs and how strong you prefer them.
If you put the herbs directly in the water, strain the tea using a fine strainer to remove the herbs. If you are using a tea strainer, simply remove it.
If desired, you can add honey or lemon slices to enhance the taste or for additional benefits.
Serving:
Drink the herbal tea while it is warm or leave it to cool if you prefer it cold.
