- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 2 packages (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent dough
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 beaten egg (for brushing)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through, breaking up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
If using cheddar cheese, add it now.
Unroll crescent dough and cut into triangles.
Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture on the wide end of each triangle and roll it up toward the narrow end, pinching the edges to seal.
Place the crescents on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush the tops with beaten egg for a shiny, golden finish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown.
Leave to cool slightly before serving.
