Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies The perfect recipe for all occasions

Here’s how to make classic cookies that are easy, quick and delicious:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cups (150 g) flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (115 g) softened butter (unsalted)
  • ½ cup (100 g) white sugar
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup (175 g) chocolate chips (optional: chopped nuts or raisins)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.

Prepare the butter and sugar mixture:

In another bowl, beat the softened butter with the white sugar and brown sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla, and continue beating until combined.
Adding the dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture and stir well with a wooden spoon or spatula until a smooth dough forms.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips (or nuts, if desired) into the dough until evenly distributed.

Shaping the cookies:

Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon per cookie).
Place the balls on the parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches (5 cm) between each ball.

Baking:

Bake the cookies in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. The cookies may look soft in the center when removed from the oven, but they will firm up as they cool.

Let the cookies cool on the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

For soft insides and crispy edges, do not overbake them.
You can add other ingredients such as shredded coconut or caramel chips.

The cookies are ready to serve! Enjoy with a cup of milk or tea.
