Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- ½ cup finely chopped dry breadcrumbs
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ⅓ cup grape jam
How to make Honey Grilled Meatballs:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the meat, egg, Parmesan, parsley, salt and black pepper until well combined.
In another bowl, combine the milk, onion, garlic and breadcrumbs.
Now, mix the meat mixture and milk mixture together, without over-mixing.
Shape into meatballs and arrange on a greased 8-inch baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes or until meatballs are crispy on the outside.
Mix honey, barbecue sauce, and grape jelly together in a bowl.
Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the meatballs.
Use foil to cover the dish and bake for another 15 minutes.
When the meatballs reach 165 degrees F in the center, they are ready.
Storage Instructions:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and eat within a few days.
Variations and Substitutions:
Use beef, which is healthier and juicier, or substitute apricot jam for grape jam. You can use any barbecue sauce. A smoked variety would be really good here.
