How to dry figs

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo of Barshoumi figs
  • Get the whole figs and they should be firm, remove the open fruit

We wash them:
We bring a pot and put in it 4 cups of water and when it boils, we add half a teaspoon of baking soda, which is for falafel

And we add four tablespoons of sugar and a pinch of lemon salt or lemon juice

And stir well and when the water boils, we add part of the figs and do not sprinkle them and set the time for only three minutes and stir it then put it on a strainer to drain

And so when we finish the quantity, then we put a weight like a heavy plate on it to drain the liquids in it, but we take care not to move it too much and only half an hour

We put paper towels on a tray and arrange the figs on it and they should be spaced apart from each other then arrange them and cover them with a screen and put them in the sunlight all day and put them in the oven before night so that the dew does not come on them and spoil them then put them

for an hour to two hours in the oven at a temperature Very quiet 70 degrees

And don’t worry because the oven is working as if it were sunlight, meaning if we put our hands in it, we will only feel a very light heat, which is what is required.

When it comes out of the oven, we leave it to air out until the next day on the kitchen cupboard until the next day, and we repeat until the figs dry up and become dry.

If you follow the steps, it will come out

It is excellent with you and it will dry in four days if you put it in the oven every day for two hours. It can be put in the oven for the first two to three days only, and this is very important for its success
