Ingredients:
- 500 grams wheat flour
- 325 ml warm water
- 10 grams salt
- 10 grams fresh yeast (or 5 grams dry yeast)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation:
1- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Leave for 5-10 minutes until bubbles form.
2- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center of the dough, then add the yeast and water mixture.
3- Mix the ingredients well until a dough forms. Then knead for about 10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
4- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and leave it in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until the dough doubles in size.
5- Once the dough has fermented, remove it by gently pressing it with your fingers. Divide the dough into two or three parts, depending on the desired size of the French bread.
6- Shape each piece into a rectangle and then roll it from one long side, closing the edges tightly while rolling.
